Biella: Agreement between Unione Industriali and Notarial Council in Support of Small Business

15/10/2011

National

On 26 October 2011 an agreement was signed between the Notarial Council of Biella, represented by its President Raffaello Lavioso and the Small Industries Committee of the Unione Industriale Biellese [Industry Association of Biella], represented by its President Nicolò Zumaglini.

The agreement, which is the result of a discussion begun at a national level in October 2009 between Confindustria’s Small Industries unit and the National Council of Notaries, represents a significant example of dialogue and cooperation between the Notariat, which has always furnished the knowledge and skills to assist citizens at important points in their lives, and entrepreneurs and the world of business whose interest is in making best use of that fund of knowledge.

The document outlines a series of joint initiatives aimed at both aligning the application of a number of rules with the requirements of businesses as well as supporting small businesses in various strategic choices, in particular as regards capitalisation, up-scaling and inter-generational transfer.

On the subject of inter-generational transfer, a convention was organised in the past entitled “Companies: classic and innovative inter-generational transfer solutions” while a new meeting with business owners will be organised soon on the subject of “Business Networks”.

The dialogue and cooperation between the Notariat and Business which constitute the guiding spirit of the Agreement are manifesting themselves in a period of serious difficulty for the economy and for the country and represent a concrete attempt to work as a team in the pursuit of common goals.

These stories, from times past and present, emerge from the provisions of the last wills and testaments of famous men and women as well as of ordinary people. They make interesting and in some cases even comical reading. Those who choose to give a noble end to their existence through a charitable bequest turn their will into a story of love for their fellow man and send a message of hope to new generations.
