The 46th National Congress of the Notariat, entitled “Unification of Italy and the Notarial Tradition”, will be held in Turin from 13 to 15 October at the Lingotto Congress Centre. This event is part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, an extraordinary opportunity to refresh and strengthen the ties that bind our nation together at one of the most difficult times in our history.
The inclusion of the National Congress amongst those events and the specifically chosen subject for the congress are intended to underline the role the Notariat has played in the long tormented process of social, cultural and legal unification of Italy, which has perhaps been more complex than the process of political unification and has certainly been longer and is far from complete, as the events and movements of recent years demonstrate.
The congress’s theme is to be developed by illustrious figures from academic, institutional and professional circles, and will be the leitmotiv of the activities which will take place on the margins of the main Congress, including two round tables: “Rules, Confidence and Economic Development: the Role of the Notary” and “The Contribution of the Notariat to the Evolution of Law and Civil Justice”. In the round tables other authoritative representatives of different sectors of Italian society will discuss those aspects of the present grave crisis that most closely affect the professions and the contribution the Notariat intends to make toward the modernisation of the legal system and the reform of civil justice.
