Fondazione MAGIS – The Italian Jesuit Movement and Action for Development [MAGIS is the Italian acronym], formed in 1988, works in the service of the faith and for the promotion of justice through the integral development of the most disadvantaged peoples, through the promotion of inter-cultural and inter-religious dialogue. MAGIS bears a name which in the tradition of St. Ignatius demonstrates one way to proceed: to be constantly driven to discover, redefine and reach the magis (more, ever more) by meeting new challenges and seizing new opportunities.

On 28 May 2012, at the International Criminal Science Institute (ISISC) facility in Syracuse, a press conference was held to present the “Syracuse is Justice” Foundation, promoted by ISISC and the Chamber of Commerce of Syracuse with a view to improving the efficiency of the legal system and relations between the judicial system and the citizenry.

On Wednesday 13 June, at the Notarial Council of Rome’s Auditorium, a convention took place on the subject: ā€œPractical applications of national and EU laws regarding crimes linked to bankruptcy proceedings and the administration of assets confiscated from organised crimeā€, the second Italian seminar of the Italian Notarial Foundation’s Criminal Justice Project, co-financed by the EU, for the European training of magistrates, notaries and lawyers on the criminal implications of business and corporate bankruptcies in Europe and the problems associated with sequestration and confiscation of Mafia assets in EU countries.

The new portal of the Council of European Union Notariats (CNUE), called ā€œNotaries of Europeā€, is now available on-line. It gathers together on a single site all the Notariat’s initiatives Europe-wide.
