The Guide entitled “Living and Doing Business in Italy” was created by the Italian Notariat to meet the needs of Italy’s new economic scenarios and to inform foreign citizens about operations that in Italy by law require the intervention of a notary, who is a public official of the Italian Republic

The National Council of Notaries is supporting the Charter of Milan with a project to make land ownership safe and efficient and so protect land as a “human right”, essential to the economic development of every country. Italy has had four Digital Champions in two years, and has decided, in line with the recommendation of the European Union to spread the concept throughout the country, to appoint a Digital Champion for each Italian municipality

A conference entitled “Digital Identity and Succession. State of the Art and Possible Solutions for Members of the Public” is to be held in Milan on 4 December at the Luigi Bocconi University. Mr André Michielsens, a Belgian notary, is the President of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union for 2014. He follows Mr Frank Molitor from the Luxembourg notariat. He will be assisted during his term in office by a Board composed of the following presidents of the notariats:

One year on from its creation EUFides, the platform for international cooperation of notaries in real estate, continues to grow. At the meeting held on 23 January to sign the statutes of the association, which is based in Brussels and governed by Belgian law, Italy too formalised its membership, thus joining the four founding notariats (Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Spain).
